Why Ascent Pathways
Hey there! My name is Randall (Randy) Myers, and I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself to you. You see, I've spent a good portion of my life devoted to the ministry. For over 40 years, I served as a pastor, and for seven of those years, I had the privilege of being a Superintendent. Through my journey, I've experienced the highs and lows that come as a pastor and leader.
One of the most rewarding experiences for me was being part of New Hope Church in Bend, Oregon. It all began with a small group of about 25 individuals, and together, we watched it blossom into a thriving community of over 1000 people attending our weekend services. We didn't stop there; we also had the opportunity to plant another church called Journey, which is now actively involved in planting more churches in Central Oregon.
Now, here's a little secret about me: I'm not exactly the adventurous type. In fact, I have a slight fear of heights, so you won't catch me climbing any remote mountain peaks anytime soon. However, I've heard from those brave enough to conquer Mount Everest that it's nearly impossible to reach the summit without the assistance of a Sherpa. A Sherpa is a dedicated guide whose sole purpose is to help others successfully ascend and descend the mountain.
That's precisely the role I want to play in your life – one of your "sherpas" on the path that God has laid out for you. I understand the unique challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for you.
